Man City player ratings as Kevin De Bruyne runs Bournemouth ragged

Ederson: A routine save from Ben Pearson in the first half and that was it. Deserves credit for sticking around given how little he had to do. 7

Kyle Walker: Tucked inside tidily alongside Rodri for much of the match, although didn't make as much impact as he would have liked with forward balls. 7

Ruben Dias: Didn't put a foot wrong at the back, but so little to do. Got in the way of an early Ake chance at the other end. 6

Nathan Ake: Very good at both ends of the pitch, getting his team out of a few sticky moments and threatening at the other end. 8

Joao Cancelo: Pushed up high from the start and even further in the second half, with his trickery forcing the fourth goal 7

Rodri: Played with impeccable timing, nipping in to stop rare Bournemouth counters before they began and making important contributions to the attack. 8

Ilkay Gundogan: Another excellent performance from the skipper and he picked up where he left off with another significant goal at the Etihad 8

Kevin De Bruyne: City's best player. He looks as fresh as a beaming Pep Guardiola reckons he is and ran the show again with a goal and an assist. 8

Riyad Mahrez: Stayed on the pitch for the 90 but will be disappointed not to have troubled the Bournemouth defence more - especially after getting his left-back booked in the opening minutes. 6

Phil Foden: Made up for spurning an easy chance and ended another productive 45 minutes with a goal and an assist. 7

Erling Haaland: Excellent work for the assist but will be disappointed not to have finished on the scoresheet himself, screwing a chance wide after a number of near-misses in the box. 7

Substitutes

Jack Grealish (for Foden, 46): Pushed high and centrally but couldn't get the chance he craved. 6

John Stones (for Dias, 64): Again, very little to do at the back. 6

Bernardo Silva (for Gundogan, 64): The fans showed how much they loved him 6

Julian Alvarez (for Haaland, 74): In the box whenever he could. 6

Rico Lewis (for Walker, 81): City debut

Not used: Ortega Moreno, Mbete, Wilson-Esbrand, Delap
