Man City loan round-up as Taylor Harwood-Bellis shines but Luke Mbete has debut to forget

Taylor Harwood-Bellis

The centre-half netted the first-ever league goal of his career in Burnley's 1-1 draw with Lancashire rivals Preston North End.

The 20-year-old, an ever-present for Vincent Kompany's Clarets in the Championship, headed home early on at Deepdale only for North End's Jordan Storey to cancel it out. Harwood-Bellis played a superb game all night, not only scoring but showing confidence and ability when bringing the ball out of defence.

The stalemate sees Burnley sit fifth in the standings after nine games.

Liam Delap

Striker Liam Delap is still searching for his maiden goal with temporary employers Stoke City. Despite the wait now stretching into a fifth game, he played his part in a thoroughly impressive 3-0 win over Hull City on Tuesday. He held the ball up well and generally made himself a nuisance for the Tigers' defence in what was a first win for the Potters since Alex Neil's appointment.

Tommy Doyle and James McAtee

Doyle made his third straight start for table-topping Sheffield United as they sealed a last-gasp win at Swansea.

The midfielder got stuck into the battle in South Wales and produced another encouraging performance as Paul Heckingbottom's side maintained top spot in the second tier. His City colleague McAtee came on to replace him on 73 minutes as he continues to bide his time to add to the two starts he has already clocked up.

Luke Mbete

Defender Mbete made his Huddersfield debut and was making his league bow after a handful of cup appearances for City.

But it was not a night to remember for the 18-year-old. He gave away a penalty in the first half of their clash with Wigan, bringing down Callum Lang in the box. Will Keane scored the spot-kick and although Tom Lees drew level for the Terriers, Lang scored a late winner.

Mbete was subbed off just after the hour and the defeat ended with Huddersfield sacking boss Danny Schofield - the man who signed the City youngster.

Zack Steffen

American goalkeeper Steffen continues to sit on the sidelines after missing Middlesbrough's 3-2 defeat at home to Cardiff.

It was the fourth straight match that the 27-year-old missed, after sustaining a knee injury.

James Trafford

Stopper Trafford continued his ever-present record in League One for Bolton, keeping a fourth clean sheet in the 2-0 win away at MK Dons.

He had relatively little to do either, with the Dons failing to register a single shot on target. Bolton are up to fifth in the table.

Cieran Slicker

Young goalkeeper continues to await his league debut for League Two strugglers Rochdale. He was again on the bench in their 1-0 loss at home to Leyton Orient.
