Man City learn Josko Gvardiol price-tag and more transfer rumours

Manchester City will have to pay at least £75million if they are to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol this summer, according to reports.

City are interested in adding a centre-back, with the future of Aymeric Laporte uncertain. The Blues man is said to be frustrated at a lack of game-time, particularly in this season's biggest games, and could end a five-year spell at the club.

Croatian international Gvardiol has admirers at the Etihad - not least Pep Guardiola - after a brilliant campaign in Germany and at the World Cup part way through the season. The 21-year-old made 41 appearances for Leipzig, with one of his three goals coming against City in the Champions League last-16 tie in February.

Marco Rose's side would be willing to sell their defender, but according to TalkSPORT will demand upwards of £75million - more than four times the £16million they signed him for three years ago. Gvardiol is contracted at the German outfit until 2027, meaning they will face little pressure in compromising.

Elsewhere, French outlet Footmercato reports that City have turned down two swap deals from Paris Saint-German, who have offered Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma in exchange for Bernardo Silva.

PSG have emerged as frontrunners for the Portuguese midfielder, whose future at the Etihad remains uncertain amid reports he intends to leave. In January, he admitted he would be open to exploring new projects.

The French giants have 'began to test the waters' regarding a move for Silva, suggesting to City that they could send their own two stars the other way. However the report adds that City outright refused both proposals.
