Manchester City are reportedly being updated on Southampton's Romeo Lavia despite selling him last summer.
Lavia was sold by City for around £12m as he searched for more playing time away from the Etihad. While his debut season with the Saints ended in relegation to the Championship, the Belgian defensive midfielder earned plenty of plaudits.
According to 90min, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are the main contenders to sign the 19-year-old to strengthen their ranks. Should they wish to do so though, they will need to fork out in excess of £50m, it is understood.
City, who lost Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona this summer, reportedly have a buy back clause in the deal and are being kept aware of the situation ahead of a potential swoop for him. Lavia is also being linked with summer switches to Manchester United and Newcastle.

Elsewhere, talented EDS star Carlos Borges is reportedly attracting interest from Southampton. The Portuguese forward managed 29 goals for the Blues' youth team last season and is highly thought of at the club.
The Athletic understands the Saints are reigniting their interest in the teenager after previously approaching City back in January. Having experienced success with Lavia and being on the verge of signing Shea Charles, it is understandable why the south coast club would be interested in another top Etihad talent.
However, the Championship side could well have a fight on their hands if they wish to sign Borges. The Athletic points out there is interest from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs thanks to his form in the last campaign.
