Man City 'interested' in Arsenal ace Ben White and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Ben White, with the England international said to be on a two-man shortlist for the Blues.

According to Calciomercato, the 25-year-old is a target for Pep Guardiola, with RB Leipzig ace Josko Gvardiol, who impressed for Croatia at the World Cup, also reported to be an option for City.

It appears a move for the defender would be unlikely this season given the Premier League title battle between Arsenal and City. The Gunners currently sit at the top of the top-flight table, with White - who has been playing at right-back - making 20 appearances in all competitions. He has also contributed two assists.

Guardiola already has several options at centre-back, with Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji all desperate to start when fit and available. However, White's versatility could make him a good addition to the City squad.

Elsewhere, TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that City are interested in signing Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini, but that he will not leave the Italian club until at least the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the 19-year-old will not leave in January, but Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are all reported to be keen on the player as well. He has made 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season, also registering one goal.

The Italian centre-back came through the ranks at Atalanta - making 32 appearances since being promoted to the first-team.
