Man City handed shock Premier League title race boost over Arsenal by Kevin De Bruyne

Belgium have crashed out of the World Cup at the Group stage after drawing 0-0 with Croatia on Thursday. Despite a flurry of chances towards the end of the game, the nation's 'golden generation' weren't able to edge ahead and a draw wasn't enough to secure a place in the last 16.

Croatia ultimately went through in second-place whilst Morocco claimed top spot in Group F after beating Canada 2-1.

Chelsea's record-signing and on loan Inter Milan star, Romelu Lukaku, was even reduced to tears at full-time after he squandered three glorious opportunities to hand Belgium victory. But it wasn't to be for the Red Devils, who leave Qatar disappointed by their lack of team cohesion and poor performance.

Amongst those disappointed is Kevin de Bruyne. The midfielder caused a rift between teammates earlier on in the tournament when he claimed that Belgium were too old to win the World Cup. Whilst he's been proven right, it probably wasn't the wisest thing to say.

One positive for Manchester City fans, though, is that de Bruyne will be returning to England early. City are currently five points behind league leaders Arsenal, so having their best player fit and ready to go is a huge plus heading into what promises to be a nervy title race.

On the other hand, like City, the Gunners still have several players at the tournament, including talisman Gabriel Jesus, who is expected to at least make the final with Brazil - the favourites to win it all - and Three Lions star Bukayo Saka, who has been in fine form for club and country.
