Man City handed Erling Haaland injury boost ahead of Premier League clash with Fulham

Manchester City have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Fulham after Erling Haaland returned to training.

Haaland, 22, missed the win over Leicester at the weekend and the Champions League victory over Sevilla on Wednesday with a foot problem. He limped off against former club Borussia Dortmund on October 25.

However, with a return to domestic matters on the horizon for Pep Guardiola and his squad on Saturday afternoon (3pm), their top goalscorer laced up his boots on Thursday morning. Haaland continues to take the Premier League by storm with 22 goals in 16 games.

Guardiola was pressed on Haaland and his fitness during his pre-match press conference for the Sevilla game. He said: "Erling will not be available for tomorrow [Wednesday night].

"He feels better compared to Saturday and Sunday, but not 100 per cent. We don't want to take a risk as it makes no sense. Hopefully, he will be back for Fulham."

Given his staggering goals return since signing for the club this summer, Norway striker Haaland was naturally the most eye-catching absence for City against Sevilla. However, younger stars were subsequently given their opportunity to shine, with Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips also out through injury.

Walker is suffering from a groin issue while Phillips, who also signed for City this summer, has been missing with a shoulder problem. Both remain doubts for 2022 World Cup selection.
