Man City give injury update on John Stones and team news vs Brighton

John Stones will be back in the Manchester City squad to face Brighton on Saturday after he trained twice this week.

The centre-back has been out with a hamstring injury since pulling up during England's 3-3 draw with Germany last month, missing the last five games for the Blues.

But he's been back in training this week and will be involved when the Seagulls visit the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

Kalvin Phillips is also making good progress as he recovers from shoulder surgery, although he is not yet back in training.

"John has trained last two days with us, tomorrow is on the list, and Kalvin is much better as well," he said.

Guardiola also said he hadn't yet spoken to the medical team about Kyle Walker's recovery, with the defender undergoing groin surgery earlier this month.

Walker this week expressed confidence he will be fit enough to be included in England's World Cup squad next month, something Guardiola is hopeful will be the case.

"I didn’t speak with the docs about Kyle, but I hope it can happen," he said.
