Some Manchester City supporters have claimed Jack Grealish is a better signing than Paris Saint-Germain's of Lionel Messi.
It was announced on Tuesday night that Messi had officially joined the French giants following his shock Barcelona exit.
The Blues have formally registered their interest in Messi over the last five years and, while it seemed he was closer than ever to swapping the Camp Nou for the Etihad last summer, the race for his signature has come to an end after swift transfer talks.
Messi has joined PSG on a two-year contract until 2023, which could be extended by a further 12 months, and his arrival has ensured Mauricio Pochettino's side have now leapfrogged City as the bookmaker's favourites to win this season's Champions League.
That's despite Pep Guardiola's side securing Grealish's signature for £100m last week, which some fans think is a better signing.
Others clearly weren't convinced that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner was exactly what City required in the transfer market.
"I am excited to begin a new chapter of my career at Paris Saint-Germain," Messi said upon his arrival in France.
"Everything about the club matches my football ambitions. I know how talented the squad and the coaching staff are here. I am determined to help build something special for the club and the fans, and I am looking forward to stepping out onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes."
