Arsenal's huge title clash against Manchester City didn't quite go to plan as the race appeared to swing in the favour of the current champions. It took just seven minutes for the home side to take the lead at the Etihad Stadium as Erling Haaland fed Kevin De Bruyne, who took aim from long range to score the opener.
City continued to knock on the door as the Gunners struggled to create anything, with the game drifting towards the halfway point. There was a twist just on the stroke of half time though as John Stones latched onto a free header from a free kick, which was originally flagged as offside, but was soon overturned from VAR.
The second half picked up where the first left off as De Bruyne then extended the lead less than 10 minutes in, with full control to Pep Guardiola and his side. It results as a devastating blow to the Gunners, who now hold a far slender lead at the top with five games of their season to go.

While their players run rampant on the pitch, the Man City fans in the crowd joked off it by poking fun at those who travelled all the way from London. They went on to chant "Are you Tottenham in disguise?", with their north London rivals struggling for form of their own as of late.
It may come ironic to some, given the fact that Spurs have had a knack of beating City in recent seasons, while the opposite can be said of Arsenal. However, the cheeky dig will have landed anyway on a night that went far from how many would have dreamed it a few months earlier.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners can turnaround their own form to put up a fight at the end of the season, but they may now rely on some help from other teams to get over the line.
