Manchester City have been drawn against Premier League rivals Chelsea in the FA Cup Third Round.
City welcome the West Londoners to their Etihad Stadium home in the world-famous competition after the draw was screened on BBC Two tonight. A date will be set in due course - between January 6 and January 9 - depending on broadcasting schedules.
Pep Guardiola and his star-studded team have swept all before them in the Premier League and League Cup so far during his reign. However, in their quest for elusive European honours, they have 'only' picked up one FA Cup medal since his appointment in 2016 - but they remain favourites for that particular trophy this season.

Upon their return to domestic matters next month, City take on Premier League rivals Liverpool in the League Cup on Thursday, December 22 and encounter another three top-flight fixtures between December 28 and their FA Cup tie against Chelsea. One of them comes against the same top-four contenders.
Guardiola and his players then have the small matter of a Manchester derby on Saturday, January 14.
City have won the world-famous competition six times in their history. Their most recent triumph - during the 2018 and 2019 season - came as part of a domestic treble under Guardiola.
