Man City discover Carabao Cup opponents after third round draw is made

Manchester City will begin their Carabao Cup journey with a home tie against Chelsea in round three of this season's competition.

City have dominated this tournament in recent years. Pep Guardiola's men won it in four consecutive seasons between 2018 and 2021 but that run was ended last term when they exited at the fourth round stage. West Ham, who also conquered Manchester United earlier in the competition, beat Pep Guardiola's side on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes.

City's first match in this season's tournament is scheduled for the week commencing November 7. Guardiola's men are one of seven Premier League sides entering at this stage owing to European commitments.
