Man City Carabao Cup quarter-final vs Southampton confirmed for TV broadcast

Manchester City's Carabao Cup quarter-final at Southampton will be broadcast on Sky Sports, it has been confirmed.

City booked their place in the last eight of the competition with an entertaining 3-2 win over Liverpool on Wednesday and will continue their quest for a fifth League Cup in six years - and sixth in ten seasons - at fellow Premier League side Southampton.

That fixture has been confirmed to take place on Wednesday, January 11, with an 8pm kick-off. It will be shown live on Sky Sports.

City can now plan their January schedule, knowing they open 2023 with a trip to Chelsea in the Premier League on January 5, before welcoming Chelsea to the Etihad three days later in the FA Cup. Then follows the trip to Southampton, before an eagerly anticipated Manchester derby away to United on January 14.

Should City beat Southampton, they will play a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final in the weeks commencing January 23 and 30, with clashes against Tottenham and Wolves also to come in January - as well as a potential FA Cup fourth-round tie.

February hardly sees the fixtures ease up, with another meeting with Tottenham scheduled and a trip to current Premier League leaders Arsenal to prepare for. If City get there, a Carabao Cup final at Wembley would take place on February 26, four days after the Champions League resumes with a last-16 first leg against RB Leipzig in Germany.

City have already beaten Southampton this season, running out comfortable 4-0 winners at the Etihad in the Premier League.
