Foden admits England frustration

Phil Foden has admitted frustration at not having played a greater role for England at the World Cup, but insisted that he is a team player and is desperate for his teammates to succeed.

Foden made his first start for the Three Lions at the tournament in Qatar in the convincing 3-0 victory over Wales on Tuesday night, with the 22-year-old grabbing his first World Cup goal in the Group B clash.

"It has been up and down," Foden told the BBC, when asked about his individual tournament so far. "(I am) disappointed not to start more games but it is part of the tournament.

Stones on Kane and Haaland comparison

John Stones would not swap England teammate Harry Kane for Man City superstar Erling Haaland.

While the Tottenham Hotspur man is yet to get on the scoresheet at the World Cup - despite Gareth Southgate's side scoring nine goals in their three group stage games - he has registered the highest number of assists (three) at the tournament in Qatar.

"Erling is so new to our league, and Harry has been playing in it," Stones said. "They are both incredible players, incredible within their own rights. Harry has always been incredible for me, incredible to play with.
