Man City ace Bernardo Silva responds to PSG transfer speculation

Bernardo Silva has assured Manchester City fans that he will always give his best for the club, despite recent transfer rumours linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Bernardo was a key player for Pep Guardiola's side last season as City won a fourth Premier League title in five seasons. His contributions earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Season, and he made the three-man shortlist for City's Player of the Season award.

However, after asking to leave the club in 2020 and 2021, Bernardo has been linked with both Barcelona and PSG this summer. The most recent reports from France have suggested that the French giants could up their efforts to sign the midfielder, either for cash or as part of a swap deal involving Neymar.

On Tuesday Guardiola rubbished the idea that City will pursue Neymar, but rumours are still swirling around Bernardo. City have no intention of selling the Portuguese star.

When asked about his future following City's 2-1 friendly win against Club America in Houston, Bernardo didn't go as far as to commit his future to the Blues, but his words were encouraging for supporters.

"Well, I'm not sure," Bernardo said when asked about the rumours. "What's really important is that I'm preparing my season as well as possible, and for as long as I play for Man City I will give always my best.

"My relationship with the club, with the fans, with my teammates is fantastic and I will always respect that."

Bernardo played 77 minutes of City's first game of their US pre-season tour and will hope to feature this weekend when the Blues take on Bayern Munich in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
