Man charged with woman's murder in Darwin

A man will face court in Darwin charged with the murder of a woman at a home in Leanyer. (James Ross/AAP PHOTOS) (AAP)

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at a home in the Darwin suburb of Leanyer.

Police said on Tuesday that a 56-year-old man was arrested shortly after the woman's body was found on Thursday and he has now been charged with her murder.

He has been remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on Wednesday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Morrissey said investigations surrounding the death were ongoing.
