A man has been charged with murder after a former bikie was fatally shot in a Sydney car park last year.

Yusuf Nazlioglu was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and torso in Rhodes in Sydney's inner west on June 27, 2022.

He was taken from his apartment car park to Westmead Hospital where he died shortly after.

The 40-year-old was a former member of the Lone Wolf bikie gang.

He was found not guilty of the murder of Comanchero boss Mick Hawi in 2020.

Detectives launched Strike Force Claypinch to investigate the incident as part of Task Force Erebus, looking into a string of fatal shootings and crime networks in Sydney.

NSW Police executed a search warrant on Wednesday in south-west Sydney as part of their investigations.

Mohammed Hosni Khaled was arrested at a Blair Athol home before being charged with murder at Campbelltown police station.

Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said police would allege that Mr Nazlioglu was the victim of a gangland killing.

"This was an organised crime murder — extensively planned and organised crime murder," he said.

He said police would allege Mr Khaled was involved in the planning and coordination of the murder including surveillance on the victim for weeks before the shooting.

"We will allege in the weeks leading up to the murder the accused assisted in surveillance of the target, coordinated vehicles, did other activities on the day of the murder and the day after the murder, including burning out one of the vehicles that was used.

"It will be alleged that an e-scooter was then used by the accused with another person to leave the area where the last vehicle was set alight in the south-west Sydney area."

Detective Superintendent Doherty said three vehicles and two e-scooters were used in the alleged murder.

Detectives also seized cannabis, cash and electronic devices during the raid on the Blair Athol property for forensic examination.

Mr Khaled, 25, was refused bail and will appear in local court.

Two additional warrants were also executed in Mount Pritchard and Kemps Creek this morning.

Detective Superintendent Doherty said two more warrants were being executed in Sydney south west this afternoon.
