A man has been charged with murder days after another man was found unresponsive outside an address in a rural Queensland town.
Police believe an altercation broke out on March 21 in the town of Miles, roughly 330km northwest of Brisbane, during which a 44-year-old man was hit before falling.
Emergency services attended and located the man unresponsive before he was transported to Miles Hospital, where he was declared dead.
After extensive investigations and public appeals for information, a 26-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with one count of murder.
The accused is expected to appear at Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday.
