A man faces a murder charge after his wife was found dead at a property south of Brisbane, with reports she had been run over by a tractor.
Yadwinder Singh, 44, called triple zero and reported his wife was dead after an accident, Detective Inspector Chris Knight said on Friday.
Queensland Ambulance Service said the 41-year-old woman had been found dead on the property at Woodhill on Thursday, after an incident involving farm machinery.
Det Insp Knight said emergency crews faced a confronting scene.
A sedan and a tractor-slasher have been seized for forensic examination.
Police allege there are some indications the crime scene may have been manipulated.
"There were some observations that our investigators made on our initial triage of the scene that gave us concerns," Det Insp Knight said.
Singh has been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence) and interfering with a corpse.
Det Insp Knight said if there was any history of domestic violence between the pair it would be part of the investigation.
Singh was refused police bail and appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday.
He was remanded in custody to face court again on June 5.
Police continue to scour the property for evidence but heavy rain has hampered efforts.
Their search will also extend to several dams on the property, with police divers brought in to assist.
