A man has been charged with murder after an 80-year-old woman was found dead at a home in west London.

Steven Clark, 50, from Kilburn, is alleged to have killed Ursula Uhlemann at a home in Queens Park, also in west London. He is understood to have been her partner.

Police officers were called to the address at around 4am on 20 March.

Paramedics were already in attendance and reported that a woman, Uhlemann, had been pronounced dead.

A postmortem examination gave a provisional cause of death as compression to the neck, the Metropolitan police said.

Clark, of Bravington Road, appeared at the Old Bailey in central London on 26 March.

Judge Richard Marks KC said: “It is an alleged domestic killing by the defendant of his partner.”

Clark was remanded in custody and the judge adjourned the case. A plea hearing has been set for 5 June.
