Alana Odysseos died after being found with stab wounds at a property in Lynmouth Road, Walthamstow, around 3am on Monday.
Scotland Yard confirmed on Tuesday morning Shaine March, 45, of Rainsborough Avenue in Surrey Quays, had been charged with her murder.
March, of Rainsborough Avenue, Surrey Quays, south-east London, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court the same day.
He was remanded in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on July 25.
March and Ms Odysseos were known to each other, police say.
