Two young men and teenage boy charged with murder of 21-year-old shot dead in West Kensington

Two more people have been charged with murder over the fatal shooting of a young man at a property in West Kensington during the Easter weekend.

Muktar Said, 22, and a 17-year-old boy are both accused over the killing Janayo Lucima on Easter Monday in a shooting in Comeragh Road at just before 10.20pm.

The two defendants are set to appear at Wimbledon magistrates court on Tuesday morning.

Khuedr Al Kurdi, 21, who lives in Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith, was the first defendant to be charged with murder.

He appeared in court on Monday and was remanded in custody until a hearing at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

Said, of Franklin Square in West Kensington, and the 17-year-old, who cannot be identified due to his age, are both also charged with a single count of murder. They are currently in custody.

Metropolitan Police officers were called out to investigate a disturbance on April 1, and found Mr Lucima, also 21, had been shot once.

Paramedics attempted to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting at just before 11pm.

Speaking after the shooting, lead investigator Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie said: “This horrific incident took place at a busy time of the evening when many people in the area would have been going out, coming home from work or an evening out, or may have been driving through Comeragh Road, Barton Road or Palliser Road. I am keen to hear from these people.

“Were you in the area between 9.40pm and 10.30pm? Did you see a group of males on foot or on the bikes? Did you hear any shouting or witness any type of altercation or something that appeared suspicious? Do you have dashcam footage of anything that could assist our investigation?”

Police officers returned to the scene of the shooting on Monday to mount a fresh appeal for information.
