Man charged with murder, burglary after body found at Sprent, Tasmania

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found at a property at Sprent, near Devonport, in Tasmania's north-west.

Police said the 25-year-old was taken into custody when police raided a home in Stephen Street in East Devonport around midnight on Monday.

The man has been charged with murder, aggravated burglary and unlawfully setting fire to property.

The charges come after the body of a 59-year-old man was found near a burning car at a property in Tasmania's north-west on Sunday afternoon.

The accused man was remanded in custody and will appear before a Devonport court on Thursday.
