A 50-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and several firearm-related offences after allegedly threatening his employer with a firearm at a business in the Darwin suburb of Berrimah.
Police were called to the scene at about 6pm on Thursday and cordoned off an area around Pruen Road as a precaution.
Police said negotiators engaged with a man who later surrendered to officers and was taken into custody at about 9pm.
On Friday Detective Assistant Senior Sergeant Andrew Kren said nobody was injured during the incident.
"He was not in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest and nobody was injured," he said.
On Friday police located a firearm at the property.
The charges include possession of an unlicensed firearm, failure to meet firearm storage requirements and possession of ammunition without a permit.
The man has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in Darwin Local Court at a later date.
