A man has been charged with a south London cold-case murder after landing in the UK from Spain.
Paul Bryan, 61, of no fixed abode will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with murder and possession/control of identity documents with intent.
The charges relate to the fatal stabbing of Roman Szalajko at a property in Seaton Close, Kennington on February 7, 1984. Mr Szalajko was 63 years old.
Bryan was arrested after returning to the UK on a flight from Spain on Saturday, November 19.
Mr Szalajko's family have been informed of the arrest and charge, police said.
