A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly hitting a man sitting in his car at Adelaide's largest shopping centre with a blunt weapon.
He is expected to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Police say a 58-year-old man was sitting in a parked car at Westfield Marion shopping centre on Diagonal Road about 3:30pm on Monday, when he was struck on the head through the open driver's-side window.
The victim was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries.
He is still in the hospital in a serious condition.
The suspect was arrested at Oaklands Park last night and was refused bail.
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
