Man charged over knifepoint robbery at Olympic cyclist Mark Cavendish’s home

A 26-year-old man has been charged over a robbery at the home of Olympic cyclist Mark Cavendish.

Cavendish and his wife Peta were asleep at their home in Ongar, Essex, when intruders broke in and stole items including two high-value watches and a Louis Vuitton suitcase at knifepoint on November 27.

Two men have already been jailed for the robbery.

On Tuesday, officers revealed Jo Jobson, 26, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday accused of two counts of robbery in connection with the incident.

Jobson is also accused of two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm in relation to a separate incident in July last year.

Essex Police investigating the Cavendish robbery also want to speak to a fourth suspect, George Goddard, who is from Loughton but has connections across east London.
