A man has been charged after 20kg of methylamphetamine was found at a home in Melbourne's east, estimated to be worth $2 million.

Detectives raided a Forest Hill home on Thursday, seizing the haul of meth, some cannabis and more than $20,000 in cash.

A 33-year-old Forest Hill man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with a series of drug trafficking and possession offences, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime and failing to comply with a direction to assist.

He was remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates Court in February.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Venturoni said methylamphetamine, more commonly known as ice, was a major driver of crime.

"As a result of this operation, a significant amount of dangerous drugs are off our streets, which in turn will lessen the likelihood of a drug-fuelled crime from occurring," he said in a statement on Sunday.

"This sends a clear message that our teams of dedicated detectives will not stop targeting drug dealers, traffickers, and manufacturers causing harm in our community."
