Man charged in connection with murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel in Liverpool

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel in Liverpool.

Olivia was fatally shot in the chest at her home in Dovecot, Liverpool, on August 22.

Her mother, Cheryl Korbel, 46, was also injured in the shooting as a gunman chased convicted burglar Joseph Nee, into their home.

Merseyside Police said on Friday a man had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and was being questioned by detectives.

Thomas Cashman, 34, of West Derby, has been charged with Olivia’s murder and will appear in court again next year.

He is also charged with the attempted murder of Olivia’s mother, and Nee.

Paul Russell, 40, of West Derby, has been charged with assisting an offender.

Others arrested have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
