A man has been charged with endangering life and arson following a house fire in Adelaide.

A blaze broke out at the Magill property at about 10.45pm on Sunday.

Six adults who were inside home at the time managed to escape before anyone was hurt.

Fire investigators who scoured the scene believe the blaze stared in a bedroom, South Australia Police said.

A 47-year-old Magil man was then arrested and charged.

Police say he'll likely be refused bail and will appear in court on Tuesday.

The investigation continues.
