A new residential development taking shape in a disused commercial area of Liverpool city centre has already seen more than half of the apartments sold.
Bastion Point in Naylor Street, close to Leeds Street, will be made up of four "towers" comprising a total of 240 rented one and two-bedroom apartments, with the first phase already completed. Apartments in the first two towers have already all been sold off-plan to investors, with the third almost sold and the fourth due to be launched soon.
The man behind the development, Mitch Walsh, is Norris Green-born and said he wanted to improve the image of construction in Liverpool.

He added: "Naylor Street is now an active site and there's a lot going on. We started back in July and are on schedule for a completion date of July next year for the first tower, with the other three being opened in phases over the following year.
"With the development being in a huge regeneration area, our target market is working professionals along with mature students like junior doctors and nurses. It will also attract interest from people in the UAE and the Far East who are looking for higher quality accommodation."
Mitch, who has worked in the property sector for 12 years, spent three years selling property in Dubai before returning to his home town to set up the Integritas Property Group (IPG). Bastion Point is his first off-plan development in the city.
He said: "It's a really exciting time for both my company and the city. In general, property developers in Liverpool have had a bad rap, understandably with some of the developers not doing things the correct way. As a local lad I want to give something back to the community.
"This is an opportunity to show how developers can do things the right way. I'm excited to bring this amazing development to the market. It's our fastest selling development to date and currently we only have 90 apartments left from 240."
