A Liverpool antique from the Ming Dynasty was valued at thousands of pounds.
BBC's Antiques Roadshow made a stop off in Liverpool and invited people to bring along their trinkets and valuables for valuation. Housed in Sefton Park's Palm House, hundreds flooded through the doors to see what their old collectables were worth.
Chinese ceramics expert Lars Tharpe was on hand to give a professional insight into the array of items. After a man brought to the table a green vase, which he admitted he only paid £8 for and had no idea of its actual value, he was left in awe after Tharp's valuation sat in the thousands.

Giving some background about the vase, Lars shared: "In fact, it's not one vase, it's two vases. There's another vase inside, that's actually quite a tricky thing to do. What's really special about this is the shape.
"This is one of the oldest shapes known to Chinese culture, this is an ancient shape. The question is 'is it ancient'?"
Lars revealed the ornament was actually from the Ming Dynasty after a closer inspection. Due to its unique shape and intricate nature, the antique expert said it could go on the market for anything from £5,000 - £10,000.
The owner of the vase was shell shocked by the announcement as he couldn't believe his bargain find was worth a small fortune. Viewers also shared the sentiment as they took to Twitter to voice their own surprise.
One viewer said: "A £7.99 charity shop vase turns out to be a Ming dynasty vase. £5-10k. One day I'll find a treasure too! (Please) #antiquesroadshow." Whilst another added: "Awww, love Mr Ming vase man. #antiquesroadshow."
A third said: "May you all be as happy this coming week as the fella on #AntiquesRoadshow who just found out his £7.99 purchase is from the Ming Dynasty #Kerching." A final added: "That man's reaction was lovely. #antiquesroadshow."
Another viewer of the show suggested they wanted to go hunting in charity shops with the man. They said: "There’s a gentleman on #antiquesroadshow and I want him to be my shopping buddy, touring all the charity shops in the land."
