Man baffled by Liverpool One toilets asks 'emergency question'

A man was so baffled by the toilets in Liverpool One shopping centre he took to social media to ask an "emergency question".

The man visited the toilets, based on Wall Street, on Wednesday, July 20, but found himself very confused when he went inside. When trying to find the flush inside the cubicle, the man couldn't figure out how it worked.

After "dancing in front" of the toilet for 15 minutes the man took to the social media site, Reddit, to write a post headlined "emergency question - How do you make the bogs in L1 flush???".

The post read: "Meant to be sensors or something but I've been dancing in front of them for 15 minutes and I've got places to be."

Around an hour later, another Reddit user replied to the man, shedding some light on the fact the toilets automatically flush when you open the cubicle door.

The user said: "I'm hoping you have left by now seen as this was posted over an hour ago, but they flush when you walk out the cubicle."

The man responded a few hours later letting the user know he figured it out. Another user also joined the conversation and said: "What a cruel thing to put in a nation of over polite people.

"There will be people who will die in there searching for a way of making it flush to avoid the embarrassment of walking out only for someone to walk in directly after to the toilet unflushed."
