Man attacked in mass Harehills brawl left with fractured eye socket

A man was rushed to hospital after he was assaulted in a group brawl in Harehills.

West Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Saturday (May 21) at 7.43pm in Cowper Mount.

Officers found a 43-year-old man who had been attacked. He was taken to hospital for treatment for a fractured eye socket.

A spokesperson for the force said he was later discharged.

They said: “At 7.43pm on Saturday, police were called to reports of a disturbance involving a group in the street in Cowper Mount, Harehills.

“Officers attended and found a 43-year-old man had been assaulted during the incident.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured eye socket and later discharged.

“Detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing enquiries into the assault.”
