Man attacked and run over after 2am brawl outside Harehills booze shop in Leeds as police cordon off street

A street in Leeds was closed this morning after a man was deliberately hit by a car during a brawl in Harehills.

West Yorkshire Police say they received reports today (Thursday) 4.39am that a man was attending Leeds General Infirmary A&E with injuries from an assault.

This was linked to a fight outside Booze 4 U in Roundhay Road at around 2am.

The force believes that the victim, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, had been assaulted and run over by a car.

A spokesperson for the force added the is continuing to receive treatment but he has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The road was cordoned off for several hours (LeedsLive)

A police cordon was in place in Roundhay Road from the junction with Harehills Road and the inbound carriageway is closed to traffic while scene investigation work takes place.

The cordon was lifted at around 10.10am.
