Man arrested over ‘murder’ of woman, 47, found dead at home in Surbiton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 47-year-old woman was found dead at home in south west London.

Police were alerted to the woman after she was discovered unresponsive in Tolworth Broadway, Surbiton at 12.29am on April 19.

Officers attended along with paramedics who took her to hospital but she sadly died there later.

Scotland Yard said her next of kin have been informed.

A special post-mortem took place at Kingston Mortuary on April 20 and no formal cause of death was established. Further tests will be carried out.

A 43-year-old man, believed to be known to the victim, was detained at the scene on suspicion of murder.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries by officers from the South West Command Unit based in Kingston.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting CAD 118/19Apr.
