Man arrested over double stabbing in East Ham

A man has been arrested after two victims were stabbed in east London in the early hours of Friday.

Police were called at 03.35am to reports of victims with knife wounds on St John’s Road, near East Ham Underground station.

Two men in their 40s were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.

A police statement said: “Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found two men, aged in their 40s, suffering from stab injuries.

They were taken to an east London hospital where their injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening.
