A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was left with serious injuries following an attack in Bolton.
Police were called to reports of an attack on a woman on Crossdale Road in Breightmet at around 2.25am on Sunday morning (May 7).
The woman was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries, although they are not expected to be life-threatening.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempt murder. He remains in police custody this afternoon for questioning.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to get in touch.
DS Neil Moss, of Bolton CID, said: "This was an horrific attack which has left a young woman in hospital with serious injuries.
"We are continuing our investigations to establish the full circumstances of the events and there is increased police activity in the community to provide reassurance.
"I want to appeal to anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from Crossdale Road at the time of the incident to get in touch with us.
"I also urge anyone who may have found themselves in a threatening situation with a man within the Breightmet area of Bolton to get in touch with us."
