The man suspected in a shooting at an Easter brunch in Nashville – leaving one person dead and several others wounded – has been taken into custody in Kentucky, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department. Anton Rucker was arrested in Princeton, Kentucky, about 100 miles northwest of Nashville, after Nashville detectives located him at a home there.
Rucker surrendered without incident and is being jailed in Kentucky on a fugitive from justice warrant. The shooting took place at Roasted, a Nashville restaurant, resulting in one fatality and at least five others injured.
Nashville police spokesperson Don Aaron clarified that the incident was not a shootout but rather an individual who pulled a gun during an altercation and fired multiple shots. Authorities revealed that Rucker is a convicted felon who fled the scene in a Mercedes SUV.
The victim who lost his life in the shooting was identified as Allen Beachem, 33 years old. While the names of the five injured individuals were not disclosed, it was confirmed that their injuries were non-life-threatening.
According to detectives, the altercation between the victim and the assailant escalated rapidly. The restaurant was crowded at the time of the incident, although the exact number of patrons present during the shooting remains unknown.
Police emphasized that there is no evidence suggesting a prior connection between the suspect and the victim, categorizing the shooting as an isolated incident.
