Detective Inspector Laura Parr said: "Merseyside Police takes the possession and distribution of indecent images extremely seriously. Every single indecent image shared involves the abuse of children, and the distribution of such vile images feeds the demand for them and helps create more victims.
"We have specialist officers within the Online Child Abuse Investigations team who are dedicated to investigating these crimes, bringing those responsible before the courts and ultimately protecting further vulnerable young people from unimaginable suffering. We will continue proactively targeting those people in our community who contribute to the cycle of abuse by making or possessing indecent images and I would encourage anyone with concerns or information to get in contact with us.
"We always act on all the information we receive." If you have information on the possession or distribution of indent images, please contact @MerpolCC on Twitter or message ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook.
