Man arrested in connection with 'disturbance' near shopping centre in Edinburgh

Police have arrested a man in connection with an incident near a shopping centre in Edinburgh. Officers were called to two streets close to the Cameron Toll Shopping Centre in Edinburgh at around 10.30am on Tuesday, November 15, amid reports a man was on the roof.

Incidents on Claverhouse Drive and nearby Liberton Road are currently being treated as connected. One man has been arrested in connection with an alleged disturbance.

Multiple police vehicles could be seen at the scene, which was taped off near the entrance to the shopping centre, Edinburgh Live reports. An investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident has now been launched.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of a disturbance at a property on Claverhouse Drive in Edinburgh around 10.25am on Tuesday, 15 November and then a man on the roof of a property off Liberton Road a short time later.

“A 31-year-old man has been arrested with the incidents and enquiries remain ongoing.”
