A man has been arrested in connection with a 'number of dwelling burglaries' following an armed police operation in Bristol.
An ongoing investigation by Avon and Somerset Police saw a man arrested in Brislington last night (Friday, February 25) following an operation which involved armed officers due to information suggesting he had weapons.
Four men were also detained on Park Street by plain-clothed officers, and have since been released. The men were stopped after leaving a parked car where police seized a machete.

A police statement reads: “As part of an ongoing investigation into a number of dwelling burglaries a man was arrested in Brislington, Bristol, at 10.25pm on Friday, February 25. He remains in police custody at the time of writing.
“The arrest came following a police operation which involved armed officers, due to information suggesting the offenders had access to weapons.
“During the course of the operation four men were detained in Park Street earlier on Friday evening. Three men were stopped after leaving a parked car and a fourth was detained from the vehicle by plain-clothed officers who identified themselves and subsequently wore police-issue caps. Following further enquiries at the scene all four were released.
“Enquiries continue in relation to a machete seized from the vehicle.”
