Man Arrested For DUI After Fatal Independence Day Celebration Crash

Fatal fire at a wedding celebration in Iraq's Nineveh province

An unfortunate incident occurred during an Independence Day celebration in New York City, resulting in the death of three individuals and injuries to eight others. The suspect, identified as Daniel Hyden, a 44-year-old resident of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, has been arrested by the New York City police.

Hyden has been charged with three counts of driving while intoxicated and one charge of aggravated unlicensed operator of a motor vehicle in the second degree. The NYPD has indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.

The incident took place late Thursday on Manhattan's Lower East Side when a gray Ford F-150 truck driven by Hyden entered Corlears Hook Park, where a group of individuals was celebrating the holiday. Hyden was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate the road, resulting in the vehicle striking 11 pedestrians inside the park.

Tragically, three individuals lost their lives in the incident. The NYPD has identified two of the victims as Lucille Pinkney, 59, and Hernan Pinkney, 38. The relationship between the two victims, who share the same last name, remains unclear. The identity of the third victim has not been publicly disclosed.

Of the eight individuals injured, seven were between the ages of 11 and 35 and were transported to hospitals in stable condition. However, a 30-year-old woman remains in critical condition at a local hospital, according to the NYPD.

This devastating event has shocked the community and serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families.
