Authorities have revealed shocking details about the man who was apprehended for allegedly attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump while he was golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was found with a rifle in the trees near the golf course where Trump was playing. Federal prosecutors disclosed that Routh had previously written a letter declaring his intent to assassinate Trump.

Witness reported Routh delivering a box containing ammunition, tools, and letters months prior.

A witness reported that Routh had delivered a box containing ammunition, a metal pipe, tools, phones, and letters to their home months before the incident. One of the letters addressed to 'The World' stated that the attempted assassination had failed and urged others to complete the job for a reward of $150,000.

The letter criticized Trump's foreign policy decisions, particularly regarding Iran, and expressed disappointment in the president's actions.

Routh, aged 58, has been charged with firearm offenses and is facing further investigation that could lead to more serious charges. He is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing.

According to prosecutors, a Secret Service agent fired at Routh after spotting him with a rifle near the golf course. Cell phone data suggested that Routh had been waiting at the location for nearly 12 hours before the incident.

Routh's background includes time in Ukraine and Hawaii, with online posts indicating his disillusionment with Trump and even encouraging Iran to assassinate the former president.

The case has raised concerns about security protocols and the potential threat posed by individuals with extremist ideologies. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure the safety of public figures.
