A man has been left with 'significant and potentially life-changing injuries' following an alleged assault at a property in Co Antrim.
The victim, aged 31 was at home with his partner when the assailant entered a house in the Longlands Road area of Newtownabbey at around 9pm last night, Tuesday 14 February.
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man following the incident. He was detained a short distance from the address and remains in custody this morning.

In a statement, a PSNI spokesperson said: "A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a 31-year-old man was assaulted at a property on Longlands Road in Newtownabbey.
"The victim was at home with his partner when the assailant entered the house at around 9pm last night, Tuesday 14 February. He has sustained significant and potentially life-changing injuries
"The arrested man was detained a short distance from the address and remains in custody this morning.
"Witnesses or anyone with information regarding this crime can contact police on 101, quoting reference 2178 14/02/23."
