A man in his 40s has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery of a business in Greystones.
A "lone male" is understood to have entered the Wicklow business with what appeared to be a firearm and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash. Thankfully, no firearms were discharged during the alleged incident.
Gardai launched an investigation into the robbery. After enquiries were made, a man in his 40s was arrested, the gardai said.

A spokeswoman said: "Gardai investigating an armed robbery at a business premises in Greystones, Co. Wicklow on Wednesday 4th January 2023, have arrested a man.
"Shortly before 6pm on Wednesday evening, a lone male entered the business premises armed with what is understood to be a firearm. The male threatened a staff member and left the premises on foot with a sum of cash.
She added: "No firearm was discharged during the course of the incident and no injuries were reported. Following enquiries by investigating Gardai, a male (aged in his 40s) was arrested in Greystones yesterday afternoon, Thursday 5th January 2023.
"He is currently detained in Bray Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939." She added that "investigations are ongoing".
