A woman has died after suffering serious injuries at a Perth home, with a man known to her arrested after a ute crashed nearby.
Homicide detectives have launched an investigation into the woman's death and the alleged robbery of a service station in the same area.
Police and paramedics were called to the home in Kewdale about 7.45pm on Monday and administered first aid to a 35-year-old woman before she was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where she later died.
Police say a 37-year-old man was taken into custody about 8.20am at a nearby home in St James, after a dual-cab utility he was driving was involved in a serious crash.
Police will allege the man crashed his vehicle before fleeing to the rear of the residence.
He was taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.
Police are also investigating a possible link between the incident and an armed robbery at a service station in East Victoria Park about the same time.
