A man has been arrested after a teenage girl was “slashed” in the face in an attack outside a West London school.
Emergency services were called on Wednesday evening to reports of a stabbing near Alec Reed Academy in Northolt, Ealing.
Fighting broke out at around 8.15pm after a man confronted a group of four teenagers — two boys and two girls — on Godfrey Avenue.
Witnesses said the attacker proceeded to assault one of the girls, aged 17, by slashing her forehead with a “sharp implement” in an “unprovoked attack”.
The suspect was chased by two men who jumped out of their cars and “herded him into the school gate”.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, one of the men who caught the suspect told The Standard: “I was shocked by what I was seeing. He was mounted on top of her and slashing.”
The father-of-four, who lives in neighboring Hillingdon, added: “I didn't want to get stabbed, but we herded him into the school gate. I’d do what any other person would do.”
Shortly afterwards, Metropolitan Police officers arrived on the scene next to the mixed all-through school and arrested the suspect.
Ambulance crews, including an incident response officer and a member of the tactical response unit, were also deployed.
The teenager was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital and treated for facial injuries.
