Man arrested after 'posting video' from inside Nicola Bulley cordon

A man has been arrested after a video was posted on social media from inside a police cordon during the Nicola Bulley investigation.

Lancashire Police released a statement on Wednesday evening (March 8) after they arrested a 34-year-old man from Kidderminster on suspicion of malicious communications offences and perverting the course of justice. The force says the arrest came after footage was taken from inside a police cordon close to the River Wyre on Sunday, February 19, the day Nicola's body was found.

The footage was subsequently posted online. The man has since been bailed with conditions.

The mum-of-two, 45, had been missing for more than three weeks when her body was found in the River Wyre, around a mile from where she was last seen. Senior coroner Dr James Adeley told the inquest Nicola had been identified through dental records. A full inquest will be held on June 26 at County Hall in Preston.

A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications offences and perverting the course of justice in connection with our investigation to find Nicola Bulley. It relates to footage being taken from inside a police cordon close to the River Wyre on Sunday, February 19, which was subsequently posted online.

"A 34-year-old man from Kidderminster was arrested this morning (Wednesday, March 8), with assistance from our colleagues at West Mercia Police, on suspicion of malicious communications offences and perverting the course of justice. He has since been bailed with conditions.

"Our priority is, and has always been, to support Nicola’s family and the wider community in St Michael’s. We hope this arrest provides reassurance that we take concerns seriously and will act on them."
