Gardai have arrested a man following a search operation at a home in Galway on Friday, September 9.
The search was carried out under warrant by the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit as part of Operation Tara and uncovered €60,000 worth of cocaine in Tuam.
A man in his 30s was later arrested and detained under Section two of the Criminal Justice Act of 1996, but was later released as gardai prepare a file for the DPP.

A garda spokesperson this morning confirmed: “As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit seized cocaine with a value of €60,000 and arrested a man following a search in Tuam, Co.Galway on Friday, 9th September 2022.
“Gardaí carried out a search under warrant at a domestic residence during the afternoon and seized cocaine estimated to be worth €60,000, along with drug paraphernalia.
“A man, aged in his 30s, was later detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at the North Western Regional HQ.
"The man has later released without charge. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“The drugs seized will now be sent to undergo further analysis.”
Investigations are ongoing.
